(Kazan, KZN.RU, June 23, by Albert Murtazin) Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin instructed the district administrations of the capital and leading hoteliers to put hotel grounds in order. The mayor's meeting with representatives of the city hospitality industry was held at the Athletes' Village International Information Center.

Recall that in the course of a previous meeting with city hoteliers Ilsur Metshin instructed them to improve the grounds adjacent to the hotels which will accommodate client groups of the championship. According to the mayor, visitors to Kazan during the FINA World Cup should see the capital of the republic in all its glory. To date, of the 50 grounds that needed improvement 33 have been put in order.

Azat Galiakhmetov also reported on the preparations for the upcoming water championship. According to him, 190 countries have confirmed their participation in the 2015 World Cup, and the total number of participants is expected to be about three thousand. For comparison, the World Championships in Barcelona were attended by 2,223 athletes from 177 countries. Azat Galiakhmetov stressed that the whole world will be watching the 2015 World Cup in Kazan, saying that more than four billion viewers were expected to watch, the rights to broadcast the World Cup having been bought by 81 broadcasters from 107 countries.

"We always set ourselves ambitious goals and high standards. If we get a four billion audience, it will be a great responsibility. As a result, we can expect an increased flow of tourists not for years, but for decades," said Ilsur Metshin. According to forecasts, about 2.1 million tourists will visit Kazan in 2015, which is 15-18% more than in 2014.
